Genesis 1:28 – “God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it…”

Psalm 127:3 – “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him.”

God adores children. You see it numerous times in the scriptures as well as the compassion Jesus showed towards children in His time on earth. He sees the giving of a child as a blessing and I am sure you are hoping to experience this precious gift one day. At some point in time, even your parents prayed for you, just like you are praying for your own bundle of joy.

I haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing the season of motherhood, but hoping, praying, and believing. I do not doubt in my mind, one day; me and my husband will have children.

In this journey of desiring children, I’ve come across multiple women struggling with infertility. Trying for years to conceive. Struggling to understand why God hasn’t blessed them with children. Miscarriage after Miscarriage. Frustration after Frustration. It’s rough. It’s tiring. It’s disappointing. It’s draining. Sometimes, you even find yourself wanting to give up on the hopes of becoming a mother.

You are not alone.

You are among millions of women who calculate their monthly cycle, hoping it may be the month they finally see “pregnant” or that positive plus “symbol.”

As I continued running into women with the same issue, I found myself getting a bit bothered. But, more so in a compassionate frustration. I found myself asking God, “Why are so many of us dealing with the same issue. You are all powerful. You are God. This isn’t making sense. This many people?!”

The more conversations I had with God, over a couple of months, several passages of scripture stood out to me about women and children; and God revealed to me why infertility is such a major problem. He compelled me to share it with anyone else out there who is struggling with infertility, and I pray these three reasons will help you gain insight on your journey as well as give you hope. I hope this message gives you understanding and encouragement, and even if not for you, share with other women that you know in your life are struggling.

If you believe that this world is not just against flesh and blood; this is for you. If you don’t believe the world is not just against flesh and blood, this is for you too.

Reason #1 – You Are A Direct Threat to the Enemy’s Offspring

 Genesis 3: 13-15  “…The woman said, “The Serpent deceived me, and I ate.” So, the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly, and you will eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” –

In this passage, God has cursed the enemy immediately after the fall of Adam and Eve. Adam is cursed with toiling the land, and the woman is cursed with pain in childbirth. Within this moment, the enemy is cast out of heaven and told that the woman’s children will crush (kill, be a direct threat) to his children, and the enemy’s children will only strike the heel of the woman’s child.

The enemy knows that children of God are a direct threat to the building of his kingdom. Every time a God-fearing woman(couple) has children, that’s more people to build God’s kingdom, which in turn, breaks and tears down the enemy’s kingdom. The blessing you are asking for; the enemy doesn’t like it. He knows how powerful your child will be on this Earth.

Reason #2 – Angels Are Fighting to Bring You Your Request, But the Enemy is Trying to Prevent It

Daniel 10: 12-13 – “Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. The Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me because I was detained there with the king of Persia.”

The first time you asked for a child; God heard you. Anything we ask in His will, and we are aware His will is for us to multiply; He gives what we ask. It’s always a yes and amen. However, in the process of your request coming from Heaven to Earth, opposition occurs in the spiritual realm. Even beyond your request for a child, any requests you’ve given to God can sometimes go through a delay period simply because there is a war in the heavenlies. However, don’t fret. It’s only a delay. We always win.

Reason #3 – God is Aware of the Enemy & Wants to Ensure It’s Safe Before Your Child Arrives

Matthew 2:19-20 – “After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.”

Revelations 12:4-6 “…The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. She gave birth to a son, a male child, who ‘will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.’ And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.”

God is fully aware of the enemy’s hatred towards you and your child. He wants to ensure your home and atmosphere are a safe place. God can see the beginning and the end. He knows what your child will do, when they will do it, and how. He knows the major impact your child will have in the building of His kingdom. He is preparing a safe place for you. He is our hiding place (Psalm 32:7)

Now that you are aware of the true struggle you are experiencing, what can you do about it ?

#1 – Put on the Full Armor of God

Ephesians 6: 10-18 – “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”

STAND FIRM IN THE BELT OF TRUTH – Know God’s Word & Speak It Over Your Situation

TAKE HOLD OF YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS – Know Whose You Are & The Power You Have Within You

PLANT YOUR FEET IN PEACE – Know You Are Already A Winner & Receive God’s Peace

TAKE UP THE SHIELD OF FAITH – Know that the Word is TRUTH & Use it to Combat Enemy’s Lies

TAKE THE HELMET OF SALVATION – Know that Jesus’s Blood Covers You & the Enemy Can’t Touch You

TAKE THE SWORD OF TRUTH WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD – Have Your Truth (Word) Ready at All Times

#2 – Pray Pray Pray

Our power is in prayer. Elijah prayed for the rain to stop and it didn’t rain for three and half years!The prayer of a righteous man availeth much. You have the power of the Holy Spirit within you. Your most powerful weapon is your Prayer life.

Ephesians 6:18 – “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

You and your spouse pray together. Have others praying for you. Pray for other women as well.

I ran across several women that are dealing with the same issue, and I tried my best to write down their name and their spouses. Each time I found myself with an infertility frustration, I thought of them and how they are probably frustrated too and prayed for us both. We are all in this war together. When one wins, we all win. Become a Prayer Warrior. We always win. We are victorious. You are a Warrior.

#3 – Get In A Small Group for Support

I’ve noticed this is a struggle that seems to be public, yet at the same time silenced. Like a topic, a woman only feels comfortable to express until someone else finally says they are struggling too. Then, after that one woman brings it up; the woman finally takes a breath and thinks, “Whew, it’s not just me. They understand.” Then there is an immediate connection and discussion.

“…the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Get in a circle of other believers. Other hopefuls. Support each other in prayer & fellowship.

I know this has been a long journey for many of you and I also know it can be unsettling when you are unaware of when you will finally see your precious baby. I understand. I don’t have all the answers. I don’t have a sphere to tell you when it will happen. But, I do hope you realize that the Lord is faithful. He is loving. He does see you. He doee sees me. He cares. During this time, let go of the timing of the request and grab on tighter to the one you are requesting to; God. He does care about your situation and is perfecting all that concerns you (Psalms 138:8) I love you as well and praying for us all.

Psalm 113:9 “He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord”
