Who We Are

Caring Counselors Coalition is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides financial therapy support, and low cost counselors, for those with or without insurance. These services are for those who need telehealth, or traditional, therapeutic counseling in areas of: depression, anxiety, domestic abuse, miscarriage, pregnancy loss, marital issues, divorce, and more.

What We Believe

We believe all communities should have equal access to therapeutic services. We believe in the importance of combining faith, prayer, and therapy; to foster an environment of healing and freedom.

How We Help

By providing financial support for initial sessions, and connecting those in need to counselors who offer low-cost, telehealth, and free initial options for therapy as members of the caring counselors coalition.

Who We Assist

Shawndrika Cook, MS, EdS, LPC

I understand that choosing a therapist can be hard, but talking about the issues of what brought you to therapy is even harder. My goal is to make this process simple and easy for you. Our therapists are culturally competent, are here to help you as a teammate, not a judge, and seek to make sure you know that you are not in this alone.

Cassidy Dear, LMSW

Cassidy believes that creating a non-judgmental space for clients to share and work towards their goal is the key. Cassidy is a Licensed Master Social Worker and has experience working with families and individuals in a therapeutic setting. Her goal is to help clients reach their highest potential and to help families live more harmonious and happier lives together. One of the most courageous decisions you will ever make is deciding to heal the soul and protect your future. I would love to know all about the bravery that has led you to search this profile. Together we can journey through life, learning to manage emotions, grow through experiences, and shift perspective.

Ashley C. Barber, Med, LPC

My primary focus is you as a person. I draw from the person-centered counseling approach and use Cognitive Behavioral and Solution-Focused techniques to help you accomplish your goals. Previous to starting my own practice, I worked in program coordination and clinical administration for a local nonprofit but found that I want to focus my whole attention on clients needs. My specific client interests are those in recovery from addiction, depression and anxiety, and the LGBTQIA+ population.

Essence M. Walker, MS, LPC

Essence Moore Walker is a Licensed Professional Counselor, who has been working in the mental health field since 2011. She enjoys helping others who feel they have run out of options, and help them look at their lives from a different perspective. Her areas of interests are spirituality, depression, emotion regulation, anxiety, relationship difficulties, growth/empowerment, loss, life stressors, family conflict, groups, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

When self-defeating thoughts encompass you, I want to assist with reconstructing those thoughts. I believe everyone was created for a purpose, despite past failures and mishaps.”
